UPSV International Association

UPSV este acronimul pentru „Un Pas Spre Viitor”. Este un centru consacrat, unde tinerii care parasesc sistemul de protectie a copilului (orfanatele) pot veni pentru a-si dezvolta abilitatile si comportamentele necesare pentru a deveni membri activi si constructivi ai societatii.

Din pacate, acesta este singurul centru de acest gen din Romania.

Filozofia UPSV este că fiecare copil merită sansa de a se dezvolta armonios, indiferent de mediul din care provine. Fie ca au crescut in mediul restrictiv al unui orfelinat, fie ca provin dintr-o familie extrem de saraca, tinerii gasesc la UPSV sprijinul necesar pentru a-si valorifica potentialul si a-si gasi locul în societate.

La fel ca orice adolescent, ei au nevoie de sustinere, indrumare si orientare. UPSV ii invata abilitati de viata independenta, ofera consiliere juridica si psihologica, precum si asistenta in gasirea unui loc de munca.
Presedintele și fondatorul, Florin Catanescu, cunoaste foarte bine provocarile cu care se confrunta tinerii care, la implinirea varstei de 18 ani, sunt nevoiti sa paraseasca centrele de plasament, fiind adesea nepregatiti pentru viata in societate dupa ani de institutionalizare. Florin a crescut în orfelinate încă de la nastere, fara a cunoaste dragostea parinteasca si trecand prin experiente traumatizante. Bazandu-se exclusiv pe propria determinare, Florin a visat sa infiinteze un centru pentru tinerii defavorizati din Romania – asa a luat nastere UPSV.
Astazi, UPSV marchează 20 ani de activitate, timp în care a ajutat peste 200 de tineri sa isi gaseasca un loc de muncă și un sens în viata.
Florin va invita sa va alaturati demersului sau de a crea programe educative, menite sa asigure integrarea sociala a acestor tineri în comunitate.

UPSV stands for Un Pas Spre Viitor which translates “A Step to the Future”. It is an established centre where young adults leaving orphanages can go and develop the skills and behaviours they need to become effective and constructive members of society.

Unfortunately this is the only centre of its kind in Romania.

UPSV believes that every child should be given the chance to flourish, no matter what their background is. Whether they have come from the confinements of an orphanage or a poverty stricken family, UPSV is here to help them realise their potential and place in society.

Like all teenagers they just need support, direction and guidance. UPSV teaches them independent living skills, provides legal advice, counselling and assistance in finding a job.

The President and founder Florin Catanescu knows all to well the challenges orphans face when they have no choice but to leave the orphanages at 18 years old, poorly equipped to face the outside world after years of institutionalisation. Florin had grown up in orphanages since birth, not knowing the love of parents and suffered terrible maltreatment. Armed only with his own self taught determination, Florin aspired to open a centre for the disadvantaged youth of Romania and so UPSV was born.

Today UPSV celebrates its 20th anniversary and has helped over 200 youths find jobs and a sense of purpose in life.
